Physicochemical Properties: Antimony trioxide white or grey orthorhombic system or cubic system powder; turns into yellow after heated and resumes white or grey after cooling down. Relative density is 5.67, melting point 656°C, boiling point 1550°C. It is stable orthorhombic system powder below 557°C and stable cubic system powder above 557°C. Soluble in hydrochloric acid, potassium hydroxide, sodium sulphide, tartaric acid, concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid; and insoluble in water, alcohol, diluted sulfuric acid. It is amphoteric oxide.

Use: Antimony trioxide used as flame retardant for various resins, synthetic rubber, canvas, paper and coatings, as well as catalyst in petrochemical and synthetic fiber industry. Used to make mordant and Opacifiers. And it is the raw material for composing antimony salt. It is used as additive in enamel industry to improve the opacity of enamel and surface gloss; and used as decolorizing agent in glass industry instead of arsenious acid, as well as used in medicine, metallurgy and military industry.
